Now, I guess you want to make your own printable birthday cards, right? Well, the easiest to do that is to use Power Point.
When you opened Power Point, make sure that you set the paper size or should I say the slide. Where I come from, A4 paper is easier to come by rather than letter. If it is easier to find letter paper, then you need to set the paper size to letter. Otherwise, A4. This will be the paper on which you will be printing your printable birthday card later.
The image on the side here shows where you have to go to get the the page setup. You would have to go to File > Page Setup.
This will bring up the page setup dialog box. Here you would need to choose the paper size and orientation. I will be using A4 for my printable birthday cards. For you people in the US, you may want to use Letter for your printable birthday card.
Don't forget the Slides Orientation. We are going to make the design on the slide now. You can ignore orientation for the Notes, handouts & outline. We are not designing the printable birthday cards on them. Just concerntrate on the slide.

When you are ready, just click OK. Then we will need to show the guide so that we can estimate the pages on the printable birthday card that we are about to design. The guide is the non-printable dotted lines on the page layout. To get the guide out, you need to click on View > Grid and Guide. Don't worry, just have a look here.
Here is the dialog box for the guide. Check the last checkbox, the Guide settings. Then click OK. That does it. Look way down and you will see the layout of the page with guides.

With the guides on, you can see two dotted lines on the slide in design mode. One line is the horizontal line and the second line is the vertical line. These lines split the slide evenly top-bottom and left-right.

Now, yo can see that I have put some texts in there. I want to show you where the pages of the printable birthday card will be. The top left corner will be the front page. But we would have to rotate the image or artwork or texts for that page later. It needs to be rotated 180 degrees.
The top right corner is the back. Here you can put some logo which determines your design for the printable birthday cards. You can put anything there. Again, it would have to be rotated 180 degrees as well.
The bottom right corner is the first inside page. This page normally is empty like most birthday cards, but you put anything you want there like some extra message or anything.
And lastly, the bottom right corner. This is where you put your wordings for your printable birthday. I guess, when that is done, it is done. You have your printable birthday card ready. To convert it into PDF, you would need a PDF converter. Many are available on the Internet. I bet you can find one easily.
You can use WordArt, cliparts, textboxes, images or any other tools that are available within Power Point. In the example below, I just used a TextArt, a clipart for the background and some textboxes. So, how do you like it?

Now your printable birthday card is ready. If you have any PDF converter, you can convert the printable birthday cards of yours to a PDF file.
Actually, you can use this to make any kind of cards like printable geeting cards, mother's day, father's day, christmas or anything else.
Last words, sorry for the 1-page website just in case that you were hoping for more. I know how to do this. Just have the urge to teach others. I hope you like it and I hope you get started right away. If you'd like to tell me anything about this small website, you can email me at printable(at)printable.kengkawan.net.
